Born to Cuban parents in Jersey City, New Jersey, she adopted her mother's maiden name in the early stages of her career to appeal to a broader audience. Milian moved to Los Angeles at the age of 13 to pursue her dreams, demonstrating her tenacity and commitment to her craft from a young age.
