Her quick wit and natural flair for comedy made Wendi McLendon-Covey "The Queen of Improv." McLendon-Covey earned her comedic stripes as a member of the famed improv and sketch comedy troupe, The Groundlings, where she developed outrageous characters that had audiences rolling in their seats. The actress landed her breakout role on the hit Comedy Central series "Reno 911!" (2003-09). The show satirized local law enforcement officers and the criminals they dealt with on a daily basis. McLendon-Covey played a sexually charged police officer that was inspired by a character she created during her time with The Groundlings. "Reno 911!" launched the actress' acting résumé that included guest appearances on television shows and in featured film roles. In 2011, McLendon-Covey played a frustrated wife and mother who wants to break free from her mundane life in the comedy feature "Bridesmaids," a scene-stealing role that helped establish her career as one of Hollywood's funniest women. She next capitalized on that fame by starring in the sitcom "The Goldbergs" (ABC 2013- ) as smothering mother Beverly Goldberg.
