A Canadian actor born in Crotia, Steve Bacic became interested in show business after moving to Vancouver, a hub for TV and film production. His first part was in the drama "21 Jump Street," where he appeared in a guest role. He then acted in several locally shot Canadian and American productions, including episodes of the late '90s sci-fi hit "The X-Files." He had a briefly recurring role as Coach on the teen show "Just Deal" and, in 2003, appeared as Dr. Hank McCoy in the X-Men sequel "X2." He began two of his biggest TV roles in 2000, earning regular parts on the sci-fi shows "Stargate SG-1" and Gene Rodenberry's "Andromeda." He then landed a guest role as Barin on several episodes of the action show "Flash Gordon" and starred on the Canadian series "The Guard," about a group of marine rescue workers. When that series ended in 2009, Bacic continued his busy acting career, earning a part on the cable hit "Big Love" and returning for a guest role on the superhero adventure series "Smallville," where he had first appeared in 2001.
