Born as Lalita Rani in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India on April 3rd, 1962, her rise to fame began with a performance at the age of 14 in the Telugu film Bhoomi Kosam. This marked the inception of a remarkable career spanning over four decades, during which she enthralled audiences with her performances in more than 300 films across multiple languages like Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali. Transitioning from the silver screen to the political arena, Jaya Prada's political journey commenced in the year 1994 when she joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
