Despite her unusual first name, Dove Cameron's rise to Hollywood stardom was anything but strange. A native of Seattle, WA, Cameron moved to Los Angeles as young teenager to pursue acting professionally. She soon began landing bit parts on shows like "Shameless" (Showtime 2011- ) and "The Mentalist" (CBS 2008-15), before nabbing the lead as identical twins on the Disney Channel's "Liv and Maddie" (2013-17). The show was an immediate hit when it debuted in September 2013, with the pilot episode being the most watched show on the network in nearly three years, at a time when its lead actress had just reached the legal age to drive a car. Born in Seattle on January 14, 1996, Cameron took an immediate interest in acting. She started performing at local theaters throughout her community at the age of 8, while quickly becoming a local star. But eventually the limitations of community theater proved too confining, which is why at the age of 14 Cameron decided to relocate to Los Angeles.
