Toronto FC is a Canadian professional soccer club based in Toronto, Ontario which competes in Major League Soccer. Toronto FC became MLS's fourteenth team in the league, and first Canadian team, upon the league's expansion in 2007. The team plays home matches at the soccer-specific BMO Field, located in Exhibition Place along the western part of the Toronto lake shore. The team is coached by Greg Vanney and operated by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, which also operates the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs, the AHL's Toronto Marlies, the NBA's Toronto Raptors and the USL's Toronto FC II. The club's most significant achievements to date are winning four consecutive Canadian Championships from 2009 to 2012, and reaching the semifinals of the 2011–12 CONCACAF Champions League.
