His journey in the world of acting began in 1974 with the film Kanyakumari and since then, there has been no looking back. His versatility as an actor has been displayed through different roles ranging from comedy to intense drama, making him a household name in the South Indian film industry.
Sreekumar's dedication to his craft earned him two Kerala State Film Awards. These were for Best Actor in 1991 for his role in Mukha Chithram, and the second one came in 1995 as Special Jury Award for his role in Kerala Verma Pazhassi Raja. His distinct ability to capture the essence of every character he portrayed, combined with his unique style of dialogue delivery, made him a beloved figure among audiences across generations.
Beyond his remarkable career in cinema, Sreekumar also left a significant mark in the television and theater industry. His roles in various TV serials and dramas added another dimension to his acting portfolio and further cemented his place as a versatile performer.
